What causes my Mercedes CL series not to start?
If your Mercedes Benz doesn’t start, the reason could be numerous.
- Battery: The most apparent cause is that the battery may have become obsolete. Most vehicle owners will replace the batteries after ten years of service, although it should be considered as early as six to seven years.
- Relays and fuses: If the battery is not the problem, the fuse on your starter circuit, Ignition, EIS, or Fuel Pump could be the trouble.
- Brake Light Switch: If your Mercedes Benz Drive Authorization System won’t let you start your vehicle, in most cases, the problem is a faulty brake light switch.
- Problems with fuel: Check to see whether you have a fuel pressure gauge with a Schrader valve adapter.
